Painstaking care of the vine from planting to harvest
The vineyard
The land
Loose infertile earth with relatively high limestone content. The 14 hectare of trellised and bush vines are owned by the Briones Abad family. The different plots are in Gumiel de Mercado in the Ribera del Duero. They are vines cultivated with care and dedication with a great respect for the environment and nature. Exhaustive work maintaining the land and with a conscientious care of the vine from planting until handpicked harvest in the boxes of 15 kilos. The grapes are doubly selected on the vine and in the winery. We work following a biodynamic and ecological philosophy.
The vines
The climate
The vines are situated at an altitude of between 800 and 920 metres and are between 14 and 20 years old. There is a maximum yield of between 4,000 and 4,500 kg/Ha. A continental climate with a light Atlantic influence. Freezing cold winters and boiling hot summers with important differences in temperature between and night which contributes to a slow ripening and excellent levels of acidity in the grape. The grapes obtained have an exceptional quality, bunches with tiny grapes with a high fruit concentration.
